KTOSIEK
Animation / Stop Motion / VFX / 3D
I created an animation featuring a robot I designed and built, combining green-screen footage, 3D techniques, and 2D animation in After Effects and Blender.
A day in life of an old robot named Ktosiek. As he moves through the rooms of the house, we learn about his curious and emotional nature. He enjoys staring at paintings, reading letters, dancing, and devoting time to things that serve no practical purpose. Through an accidental encounter with mysterious floating sphere, Ktosiek discovers his original function. Confronted with the reason for his creation, Ktosiek grapples with the expectation to become who he was meant to be.
In the world of constant progress and system updates I aim to seek value in imperfect creations.I argue that technologies we create are the extensions of ourselves. Surrounded by frictionless, highly optimized devices, we risk projecting those same demands of efficiency onto ourselves and our relationships, losing the human part in them. The part that is more spontaneous, filled with flaws, asking for some compromise. Personality that cannot be replaced by the newer model.
Through satire, I reflect on the absurdities of our growing dependence on AI and the way we communicate with chatbots. By incorporating their characteristic jargon, excessive politeness, unwanted suggestions, overexplaining, and inaccurate advice, I explore the strange and often unsettling situations that emerge when we begin to rely on these systems to guide our lives.
